On The 8th Day of Christmas: The Gift of Salvation

What a joy it is to talk to you all about Jesus. Honestly, every day I’m finding more and more joy in this exchange of love across digital media. I pray you feel the same. I’ve been excited to talk about this special plan God created before the foundation of the world was laid. We’re often so quick to tell someone how good God is, and we should be. But I want us really delve deeply into what that means. Let’s unpack the goodness of God together so we talk away from our computers today knowing for sure that He is…just in case someone may be struggling with faith today.

Do you remember the last time you were in trouble and needed someone to save you? I think we’ve all been in a situation (or two or three!) where our backs were up against the wall and we needed help. We needed someone to reverse the circumstances at hand so we could walk away having lost nothing!

This is exactly the type of trouble we were in before Jesus died for our sins. Long before our backs were up against the wall of condemnation, God saw our trouble before we even experienced it. If you’re a parent you’ll understand this. God knew the mistakes we’d make before we ever thought to make them. He knew we’d choose to live arrogant lives in pursuit of our own happiness. God saw it all coming so He devised a plan to save us from ourselves. Of course, His plan included sending His Son Jesus Christ to Earth to die and wash our sins away with His royal blood.

God made the one who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that in him we would become the righteousness of God. – 2 Corinthians 5:21

That is the good news the Bible talks about! Just when we needed it most, God saved us! He put our filthy lies, our fornication, our adulterous thoughts and actions, our slander, our scorn, our hate, our anger and our murder on Jesus so we could be clean in His sight.

Because Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, to bring you to God, by being put to death in the flesh but by being made alive in the spirit. – 1 Peter 3:18

That is how good God is. He made a way to bring us to Himself. God has done so much for each one of us. God has gone the extra mile and we have often done so little for Him and yet, His mercy and love remain. The world is such a busy place. Our lives are drowning in busyness, but let us remember the foundation of our lives, the foundation of womanhood is this: Jesus is the only name by which we have been saved. Jesus’ blood is the only blood that cleanses. God is the only God we owe our thanks.

Praise His holy name! Salvation has been brought down! Oh, glory!

These days everyone is an influencer. The problem is, we aren’t always clear on what type of influence we are having. Godly influence requires our strategic faith and commitment to obedience. Are you influencing to influence others? 🐝
